About Funky Olive

Funky Olive was founded by designer/maker Sophie Handa (nee Bentley) and was born from her passion for colour, shape, texture, movement and also a love of beautiful accessories. Bored of seeing the same jewellery everywhere Sophie wanted to be able to design and make something a little different to what was available on the highstreet.

This website simply showcases a small selection of the jewellery that Sophie designs and makes. All the pieces are unique, many are one-off designs and the entire collection can only be seen at the many events she attends each year or by appointment at her home in Berkshire.

Each beautiful piece is handcrafted to a high standard using a mixture of hand-made polymer clay beads and carefully chosen semi-precious gemstones, glass, wooden, porcelain, sterling silver beads all sourced from around the world. Every piece is finished using sterling silver findings.

As the seasons and fashions change she aims to produce designs that simply complement these factors and that will hopefully become timeless pieces to keep and wear for years to come.

Sophie's designs do not conform to any jewellery standards, making each piece as individual as you are! Where appropriate an approximate length is indicated.

A recent edition to the Funky Olive label is a small collection of beautiful hand-dyed cotton scarves that has been commissioned in a range of fabulous colours that simply complement the jewellery range! Sophie has also recently collaborated with a London based textile designer and is now proud to announce a collection of fabulous handcrafted leather belts & beautiful buckles.
